Re: Moving Home & O2 farce

Unbelievable....

I telephoned them last Monday, & get told if they placed the order that day it would take 14 working days & they would cut me off where i am atm. I should phone them once i have moved in??? I referred the chap to what it says on their own website:

"What to do if you're moving your broadband and home phone

If you're moving home, it's best to let us know 2-3 weeks before you move. You'll need your new address and moving date. We'll move your home broadband and home phone to your new address. If you need to make any changes to your package, we'll let you know.
Call us on 0800 230 0202"

Anyway gave him the complaints guys email addy to speak to him to get things sorted & here we are a week later no response from anyone & the clock is ticking - I move a week on Thursday!

I have emailed the complaints guy on 2 occasions & received no response & spoke to customer services yesterday & was assured that this had been given a higher level of priority. I PMed Paul from O2 this morning but I don't think he's been on-line yet.

frustrating frown

Still no update so i have to phone them....

Nothing has been done regarding move because I haven't asked them to do it. Now they tell me I can only get access package at my new place but it is an LLU enabled exchange

I am phoning up 1st thing tomorrow & buying out all my contracts I'm also going to encourage other family members to move away from them too.

What a shower of .....

Whilst it is reasonable for you to bale out, is it fair to encourage others to do so when they have possibly the best service in the country and are not affected by the problem you have?

And in case anyone misconstrues that, I mean unfair to them. Can you suggest anything better for them, particularly if they are still within contract?

my bro is out of contract as i was the one who encouraged him to move to them. I used to think they were great, but this experience have soured me on them totally.

I think people need to be made aware of what they might end up having to deal with & can make their own judgement on whether to bale out or not

He has no reason to bale to something inferior. His O2 service has not changed one iota.

If it does, then fair enough, if he can find anything better.

Face; nose; do not cut off.

Each case is individual Alistair, you may be having problems due to a house move, but others may be very happy. I was in the same boat 3 years ago moving to a brand new house where O2 couldn't help me and I had to switch to BT. I still recommend O2 to people provided they can get an LLU package. Dealings with any ISP Customer Service is quite often a nightmare and I sympathise with you in your case but as RobertoS has said "frying pan, friar" can be painful.
And if you have advised people to migrate to another ISP on the back of your bad experience and they end up worse off, who's going to feel uncomfortable ?

I was incredibly angry last night & have simmered a (little) bit today...

This forum is called ISP Unhappiness & that's why I thought it relevant to post my rant here.

I used to be O2/ Bethere fanboy too. I encouraged folk to move to them, but based on my experiences over the last few months i wound have serious reservations about recommending them.

I've posted my experience & others inc. family members can make up their own minds what to do.

I have phoned them up this morning & am buying my home phone & broadband contracts out to keep me within my contract terms. However, I full intend to complain to
Otelo about the whole situation.
