Until re-graded onto the LLU the surcharge is likely to apply - did they write to head office?

MrSaffron,

The exchanged (Market Drayton) was unbundled approx 6 months ago, initially with limited TT capacity. As an existing TT customer he was lead to believe that he would receive the benefits of unbundling and not have to pay the £15 surcharge.

He states that in his welcome letter/paperwork enclosed with the router (which he received when he changed to an "essentials" account) there was no mention of the £15 surcharge.

He is in the process of writing to TT head office now and will mail it in the morning.

Cheers, 4M2.

Andrew, just an update:

OCE_Emma eventually got my cousin's problem sorted out through the TT forums. However still no reply from TT head office - so he has written another letter explaining how the LLU/pricing problem was fixed and also requested a refund on the overpaid surcharges incurred during the last few months. Hopefully he may get a response from TT head office this time.

One previous insurer automatically increased my premium and debited my account. A week later they credited my account and will never again receive my business.

They don't automaticly increase your premium, just for the hell of it.

I bet if Ins co's did not auto renew people ins there would be far more complaints. Imagine having a shunt and finding that they had not renewed your ins because you had failed to respond.

********* Sorry to go off topic ********

They Auto-Renew to prevent you driving around un-insured, and believe me I deal with people on a daily basis who have NO idea how insurance works, or how the premiums work!

Oh and just imagine what would happen if it didn't renew, and you forgot about it, and 3 day's later (after the old insurance runs out) Pc Plod stops you... that's a Penalty Fine and Points on your licence... oh and it's called an IN10...which results in your next premium going up!

Andrew,

Another update:

TT offered my cousin £7 compensation for his troubles, which he considered an insult and obviously refused to accept. He has written another letter to TT requesting the full refund of overpayment to which he believes he is entitled - he will probably will not hear anything again from them until well into the new year frown

Personally, I wouldn't touch TT out of principle.. when they've sent around several cold calling door knockers, despite living in a no cold call zone and they all have blatantly lied about what they're selling, and all spinning the same yarns..

Leaves me to believe this isn't the odd rogue seller trying to bump their commissions, but rather standard sales methodology that TT is fully aware of and encourages.

swampster,

The big boys are fighting for market share and it seems that we the consumers can be manipulated into becoming nothing but numbers on a score card.

If that manipulation involves half truths and the deliberate omission of facts, e.g. possibly the case of my cousin's £15 surcharge, and this practice is tolerated, maybe even encouraged as you suggest, then obviously the company should be avoided. Problem is many of these issues are described as mistakes and that can only be attributed to incompetent management on the customer relations level.

BTW. after fighting with TT for months they have agreed to credit the overpayment to my cousin's account but we will only know if that is true when he receives his next bill...

Update:

Cousin's bill finally sorted and overpayments credited to his BB account - however answer phone service, for some reason, seems impossible to implement ( = very unhappy wife!) So TT credited his BB account further with sufficient funds so that he could buy an answer phone - what a joke that company is!

His monthly BB charges have been zero for several months because he has so much credit but they are continuing to charge for line rental and non-inclusive calls.
