Ahh.. I also followed up with an email to Talk Talk. This evening i received an email back and just like yours it told me to use the Mac given but there was no Mac included. Please check your email yet again Brabazabba, because just a few minutes ago i received another email from them which did include my Mac Code. So its goodbye Talk Talk from me.

Is that symptomatic of TT staff comprehension of what they read?

That's quite apart from the qusetion of why TT can't reliably provide a MAC within a few hours, if not minutes, of the request. My three MACs from three ISPs have been 5 days - the OfCom maximum stipulation - from the tiny Prodigynet, 20 minutes (Newnet) and a couple of hours (O2).

Hmmm.

Been there, done that. Sorry if my previous reply was a bit curt frown.

At least you wanted to help smile. Be a good idea to hang around, as TT could do with making a decent impression here.

My apologies also for taking the michael.
If you can come on these Forums and bypass your in-house online system that doesn't seem to work very well, then that has to be a step in the right direction. But you should be aware that many of the complaints seem to come from those customers who have previously been with Nildram, Tiscali and Freedom-2-Surf and I get the impression that they can't easily register on the TalkTalk forums(I know that when I tried after being transferred from F2S to Opal, it would only let me register if I entered some account number which didn't match any of the one's in my possession).
I was going to suggest that you started monitoring the forums on this site that are specific to those ISPs - but I see you are already doing it (for Nildram anyway) smile

ofcom is all bark and no bite, as non so far have ever been fined 10% of their annual turnover that ofcom can impose , infact to my knowledge ofcom so far as failed to take action

I believe Prodigy.net got a fine for not giving out MACs as when Ofcom requested information on this, they simply didn't give it out.

IIRC Prodigy got fined a couple of years before that for something as well, I forget what. £62,000 rings a bell. I was with them for years up till April 07.
