I was moved to fibre optic in April and have had nothing but problems.
You are off-topic! Orange don't do fibre optic.

Or are you confusing WBC, which is ADSL2+ over normal copper phone lines, with FTTC, Fibre to the Cabinet?
He must be, as on a fibre connection he would not have access to information such as "My router shows a downstream rate of 10860". He's been moved to WBC just like you.

Yeah sorry fibre to the cabinet. (Isn't it Fibre Optic but a bit closer to the house?!) Anyway, went on this morning to do a speedtest and getting nearly 9mb DL. Lets hope it stays that way eh. Not bad for paying absolutely nothing for the service (but maybe thats why its so unstable???)

I've been keeping a note of my stats since I got the email from Orange to say they were moving me to WBC so I could keep an eye on things. I'm glad I did now.

Last stats recorded on LLU 20/4/11:

D/L 15806 kbps
U/L 1172 kbps
Atten 24.3 db 7.7 db
Noise 9.8 db 7.7db

Unfortunately I didn't do a speedtest.

At present my router is showing on WBC

D/L 16729 kbps
U/L 1152 kbps
Atten 23.2 db 11.4 db
Noise 5.5 db 5.4 db

With latest speedtest
My Broadband Speed Test

But on Sunday with similar router stats (only my NM was different - 8.8db/5.8db) my speedtest was
My Broadband Speed Test

That was after my second router reboot and the BT Speedtester said my D/L speed was 16318kbps!

Who told you, or what made you think, that you are on any sort of fibre connection? You aren't.

For confirmation of that, please post the line stats from your router. See here for help.

You were, and I backed you up at the time.

As he ignored both, I've asked for the current stats, as that will give absolute proof.

Thinks ....

You proved it by the fact that he can see his router's connection speed smile

As I said, he ignored that. I'm trying to get more evidence. But he probably won't reply at all now because of my having to keep explaining to someone else why I am asking frown tongue.
