You mean me? You don't need to explain anything to me smile. This is just backchat agreeing with you & v.v. while awaiting poster to come up with something concrete and realistic.

As a matter of interest, how does one see one's Sync speed on Fibre, when one cannot see it in the router? Is it purely from the BT Speedtester?

You can't. Even the BT speed tester doesn't tell you. Only the IP Profile.

A few brave souls have bought their own VDSL2 routers to replace the OR modem and whatever (cable) router they have. They can see their sync, just as with an ADSLx router.

No. I know the engineer connected at 39992/10000, noise margin showing as 7.3dB. Then my modem went on, and my IP Profiles are 38717/10000 - the maxima. So I'm just guessing.

My Sync on WBC is down from LLU by about 4 Meg. I have repeatedly reported this to TS but they have refused to do anything, saying, "that's all your line is capable of!". I have no impression that they are flagging my problem and are going to look into it deeper as you surmise.

i am having the same probs with orange at the mo, it seems like BT has thrown a lot of numbers onto an overpopulated server in the evening, during the day gd speeds, up to 20+ d/l -1.6 u/l but anytime after 1700 i have no throughput speeds,[bandwith] and some nights i cannot even send emails, 'popserver' just sits there staring at me wondering what to do ? any progs wanting updates at night is a no go, just will not connect or takes ages, i no they are working on new f/optic here in cornwall at the mo, but dial up has been faster at night than what i am getting, countless phone calls to tech dept and still not resolved,4 engineer visits and found nothing at fault here, have a few 'glasnost' bandwith tests copied but they do not want to look at them for proof of fault , seems like both orange + BT blame each other, and we have to suffer, wandering if anyone else has this prob at the mo.
