Re: ADSL24 and BT

It was/is a hot VP as BT actually went out to the exchange yesterday to move your line to a fresh, non-utilised line card which should have resolved the issue, but hasn't appeared to yet.

As others have pointed out the problem is not in our remit to solve (otherwise we would have done so by now!) and all we can do is pressurise BT several times per day which we really are doing. The migration to LLU will immediately solve the problem, provided it's nothing that has gone funny with your setup/router which in unlikely.

I had a similar issue with Enta, though not ADSL24. Speeds previously OK, were way down, though not quite as bad as yours. Endless phone calls resolved nothing over a 2 month period, despite escalation to the complex faults team at BT. The final answer came back that the exchange was conjested and there was nothing they could do about it.

Happily LLU became available so I switched though the same reseller. (Surfwise product). My speed immediately became better than ever before.

Since then FTTC has become available so I have switched again using the same reseller. I was rather horrified to discover I was back with ENTA, but have to admit the service has been excellent up to now. What I have learnt though is to ignore the phone systems technical support option as this puts me straight through to ENTA. I raise any issues with the re-seller as they seem to have greater sway.

Thanks for all the replies and sorry for not getting back sooner but speeds have been very poor and fluctuating making things slightly more difficult.

Bt allegedly moved me onto another VP last Wednesday 1st Feb and eventually after a phone call to ADSL24, I rebooted the router and speeds seemed to be slightly better.
I was wrong BT got things all messed up and somehow got confused with my cease date and didnt do the change VP properly or something, needless to say my speeds now vary from 0kbps to 150kbps and Im still unable to do bt speedtests or get onto speedtest.net as its usually too slow.
Today ADSL24 said bt had given another date of 14th Feb to change VP which is my migration date to LLU , very convenient.

Ive tried everything on the cables side but am restricted on the master socket side of things as its in the loft and Im not about to lump my kit up there.
Sync rate has remained the same as have att and noise margin

Data Rate (kbps) 8128 448
Noise Margin (dB) 9.5 21.0
Attenuation (dB) 24.4 13.0
Output power(dbm) 19.8 11.9

I know that ADSL24 hands are tied by the monopoly just [censored] annoying that its a faceless company that BT have nothing to do with, so they say, and nothing can be done except via isp.

I'd try to get the VP move scrapped. Sounds like a recipe for disaster. As I understand it, going LLU will resolve the issue anyway.

Check with ADSL24 perhaps?
