Requesting a MAC

This probably isn't in the right place but out of interest I was checking a number of suppliers on how to get a MAC.
To my surprise quite a few only give one method - by phoning - OFCOM rules are that there had to be two methods

Companies must offer at least two methods of providing a MAC (by email, phone or post etc).

Unless I am missing something the following don't give a method other than phoning Sky, O2, Virginmedia

I hate to tell you, but apparently it is also impossible to avoid phoning Plusnet when you want a MAC.

They do have a couple of other ways of asking for it, but these result in an automated message to ring them.

How do I tell you I'm leaving? (MAC codes and cancelling.)

If you want to cancel, you have to tell us over the phone. (Not by email or letter.) Don't forget that you have to give us notice (see above) and there might be a charge.

Actually you can do it by snail mail but it was that which triggered my quick check

Did that bring forth a MAC, with no other problem? How long did it take to arrive?

At Freeola. Filled in a form on line. MAC returned within 3 hours.

I'm puzzled by the O2 one. I'm sure I didn't have to phone, even though that's wahat is says now. I seem to remember an online form in the "My O2" account stuff.

I haven't done it but it is supposed to be 5 days from receipt of the letter

However I requested my O2 MAC, I got email and text within about an hour. From Newnet it was a few minutes from a request in my account panel.

That is correct. They are not compelled by OFCOM to provide 2 or more ways of requesting a MAC.

"Requesting" is not the same as "providing".
