I'm sure it is always possible to make yourself more knowledgeable that the person that is paid to provide competent advice!

However, the Consumer Protection requirements tend to contend that the person providing the advice is more knowledgeable & the person seeking the advice is entitled to rely on that advice.

Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 59.4/14.4Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

I remember an elderly teacher at school telling me that there will be events in life when "you just have to put them down to experience"

As she had no option but to sign up for an 18 month contract,

Sorry to say but she did. Unless this was the only option Virgin offered to get out of the TV package.

If she was not tied to staying with them. She could have moved to any other isp offering internet connection.

Single/married, rich/poor makes no difference to the situation.

I wish her well in getting it sorted.

But as we are not privy to the conversation. anything here is pure speculation.

Then the OP's friend can sue VM for providing an answer without qualifying said answer.

ROFL.

Sue VM over this? I don't think so.

On the balance of probabilities?

Judges are quite harsh on litigants not using common sense in their dealings leading up to the case.

I know. But some people are getting on their high horse.

Seems like it's one of those where it has to be taken on the chin and never to take things that support say as gospel.
