Re: Trying to leave TalkTalk

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

l am very sceptical about isp,s, practises and tactics, more so tt,plusnet, and wonder about their links to bt. l changed from virgin after 2 years of reliability, speed and trust, just for economy, sucked in by tt ad and cheap prices, save 8 a month, were all adviced to switch and how simple. On ringing tt to confirm order and switch over told theyd cancelled order, no reason given, but two wk delay, already cut off so had to use mobile to reorder, same info from 2wk earlier, costly and no offer to ring me, buy dongle, nr 40pound extras to start, persevere. Ist night, son, more tech savvy, tells me tt too slow, wont run my pc and his laptop, nor paid for viewbox service at same time, he wants me to cancel, 25hrs to download for him, l resist due to having paid start up, fed up of switch hassle, and slow speed ok for my emailing, surfing, so he gets his own isp. lst two week 2.5 ave, and ok for me, pay line rental up front 130,days later cuts out every 5min after 6pm to bedtime, unuseable or with gt stress. Go on mb to complain, routine is give router stats, no idea, never done that with virgin or sky prior, learn and paste up, no response, try again, routine check filters, put phone it test socket, new again, no difference, now 5nts same, 0.8 can barley post complaint on m bs, but same routine then online rep calls from india, just about understand him, he,ll adjust it, improves a bit, wk later same routine, or we can send engineer out 50pound if internal, which is usual blame or router obcession, never able to use tv reruns constant buffering, all new to me, with virgin and sky just switch on and use. Read numerous posts of slow or intermittent connections with same routine from reps, scripted, resulting in no difference or short lived, frustrated furious customers paying for terrible service, some multiple engineers out, what percentage of customers only tt know, some do get good speed stability Luckily price rises allow me to leave without penalty which most with poor service cant afford or resent losing, as with line rental paid advance. l still had to battle with dreaded phone reps, who try to coerce, bully, deceive, whatever it takes to keep you at tt, including youll get same at any isp, offered discounts, but no trust in them and detest how they treat customers with complaints who are paying for service they dont get. Had to resort to emailing ceo, pity cant get plusnets ceo email. So months notice and order plusnet, in that month hear from neither, very odd, switch over date no phone no bb, wait 3 days, son goes online find online message that tt stopped phone and two wk delay extra 50pound for engineer out, dont believeit simular to tt, delays and extra money, not going there again, so cancel. Spoke to sky rep in town, signed up, no start up fee, no phone fee, though engineer did come out and misteriously found no phone signal from pole, so took an hour to go up pole and switch on, oddly again l,d seen engineers up same pole 3 days earlier, never seen that before, so then thinking are they cutting me off to put back on, but no charge to me, so 8 days later switched on with Sky, now 6 wk later and it is faster than tt and stable, though did at least get phone line rental refund for unused months, extra expenses for mobile calls dongle not. But found out plusnet had taken 25 start up fee included p and p for router despite never recieving one, tried online asst, emailing, they dont want to know, phone always busy l5min wait, wrote letter no response, no idea if theyve legal right to keep it, they seem to have so much wrapped against customers legally. How many people are paying for unknown extra,s, paying for service they dont get as advertised, how many are leaving and writing off line rental advance, engineers expenses which didnt improve things, l only know by mbs, horrendous experiences, yet probably bringing in millions in extra profits, from customers whove not got advertised service, decent attitude from reps, suffered mass stress, fact that many do, some old, or ill, or ignorant of isps being lst time users. Sorry for long monologue, thousands could tell simular or worse, shameful and discusting, without much regulation or concern from authorities. Were told to simply switch, to save, often many end up losing more than they could have saved in 2yrs use and poorer service.

Do you expect people to read your posts? If so you need to make them intelligible, learn how to punctuate, when to finish a sentence and when to create a new paragraph.

l,m sure you get the gist of it, if you cant thats your problem not mine, but guess its more about being patronising, arrogant and insulting, as seen towards another poster.

l`ve no expectations about whether people will read my post,s or not, its more in response to origonal poster, but guess you and your fellow critic did read it, presumably just so you could spit out your alleged superiority and intallect, in your own minds at least. l realise my punctuation isn`t great, got worse with age, still my grammar and spelling are average, better than many posters. So glad my mind isn`t so narrow and petty that l come onto mbs just to criticise a poster about their grammar, and insult another poster, suggesting she was a trouble maker for daring to complain about isp staff being insulting to her, at a time when she was dealing with a seriously ill father. whilst you give no opinion about the gist of the post, which l,m sure is clear enough.
ps Guess you could be isp staff not liking criticism of isp,s, too bad.

I don't see anything about a seriously ill father in the opening post, nor anywhere in the thread.

Apart from which, your pointless entirely self-interested rant would not help such a person. It's all about you, not anyone else's problems.

I see you also posted the identical rant in another thread. That hasn't got anyone mentioning an ill father either, and similarly no help to anyone. In that case it was a reply to a staff member of this site.

Maybe you are thinking of the third thread you posted in. At least that wasn't a copy and paste, but again was of no help whatsoever to the OP there. It was to do with an off-topic discussion about recording phone calls.

I'm sorry to say that your posts are full of spelling mistakes.

It's not the mistakes that people are responding about, it is the fact that there are very few full stops or paragraphs. It does make your posts very difficult to read.

I'm not connected to an ISP or this site but gave up on your jumbo post because
1) lack of spacing and paragraphs, making it difficult to read
2) lack of proper punctuation, leaving the reader confused
but mainly
3) because it didn't have anything to do with the original problem.

I am just a user of the site who likes to find out what's going on so I don't fall into the same holes.
