Only gets 900KB/s when on the phone now.
Seems they're slowly [censored] us over anyway, I'm going to CISAS if this "engineer" which is calling tomorrow doesn't fix it.

What are the likes of CISAS going to do about the massive £180 bill in about four months down the line for all these engineers visits

Calls are free
and if it's a fault on EE's side, we won't pay.

If someone can provide help.

When I'm on the phone (calling someone) my speed is 1.8MB/s

When I'm not calling someone or using the phone my speed is 9KB/s

Take it that you have removed everything other than internet connection and one phone (that you know has a working filter) to see if its not something internal.
Or only had router linked to master socket and NO internal stuff connected?

We know it's not because they reset the line and the speeds went to 17Mbps, then when I go off the phone it isn't.

I've took out the phone completely, plugged the router into the master socket directly and still no difference. It was fine before, so why can't it be fine now?

I am using the test socket, and we got 18Mbps for around 2 hours
Then it dropped to 14Mbps
Now it's at 8Mbps

is there a reason for this?

Probably a fault on the line.

Re-banding? Much more likely with EE; that's all they know.

Up to 14 Meg is their mostest band!

1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC

We got an engineer to come over, he said out internal wiring was wired stupidly, but apparently there were a ton of faults on the exterior line, so he replaced our master socket, put in a new extension socket too for no cost since the line had so many faults

My new speeds! 21Mbps!

Glad this has been fixed, no help from support for over three weeks, claiming my line could only support 8-10Mbps, when now it is receiving 21Mbps.

I'll document this in case it goes wrong in the future, the engineer also said that we have to wait until someone moves out and cancels their fibre subscription before we can buy ours.
