It was Infinity. It became active yesterday without any notice from BT, almost 4 weeks late.
Despite the suggestion on here I don't know what I'm doing I set up his small uncomplicated network this morning using home-plugs and an old router to extend the WiFi from the front of the house to the rear.
I retained and re-set his old e-mail to work with BT. I set up and updated, generally cleaned up, his PC and set up 2 new BT emails to work on the PC, Net-book, Samsung Tablet and finally an iPhone.
All very boring and mundane for the 'Experts' on here.
My friend (Wholly not technical) was over the moon with the finished system but remains very unhappy with BT.
Despite the abuse from the 'Experts' no-one managed to answer the original question of why BT would provision a Service they couldn't provide at the time. Don't bother now, I'm not interested.
