RobertoS has advised me that the IP resolves to PlusNet and they are therefore a PlusNet partner.

Can any one advise if PN can help?

CJT.

If a PDQ is not plugged in via a filter it would cause a lot of errors. The DLM would initially try to reduce the errors by increasing the target noise margin, but if that didn't stop the errors it would then apply banding which could reduce the sync speed right down to 160kb/s - 288kb/s.

You need to check that EVERYTHING plugged in to any extension on the phone line is plugged in via a filter. Note if you fix the problem you won't see an immediate improvement in speed. The ISP will need to see that the errors have stopped and then the banding can be removed.

Probably best to replace the filters as well. Unless an unfiltered connection is discovered.

That depends on how good your wiring skills are.
You can filter at source and then run a separate wire to the router and one to the phones, or if you can live with the router being located at the master socket then a filtered faceplate will be fine, we used to use ADSL Nation (do a google) they were quite good.

With a filtered face plate you also have the option to connect a decent twisted pair wire to the A+B terminals on the faceplate and install a dedicated xDSL socket elsewhere.

Hi,
I can see you have been given some good advice here, but just getting any banding removed without first fixing the issues is not really going to help you all that will happen is the banding will get re-applied.
Also there are some that don't like smaller companies and try to imply that the ISP has placed a banding on the line this is completely wrong, the process is all automated not someone sitting there trying to upset customers by slowing your speed down for no good reason.

Once you are out of office hours, then try what has been suggested with the test socket and router only with no phones or anything else, and it will need to be the test socket not just the master socket.
