I have been a TalkTalk customer since they took over Tiscali UK, during all that time my account has been via a Tiscali email address and this was offered as part of the intial contract. TalkTalk have never issued notice to me that they intended to change that.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil.
After several versions of "we cannot do anything with that email and it will no longer be able to be used", to "we may be able to do something in the future", to "you will be able to access it when the website is sorted". I have now been issued with a password by talktalk so the email address can be used, Sorting out the contacts and any important emails that have arrived in the last couple of weeks and setting up email as per robertos link.

I would just get a gmail or outlook or something similar. Using your own server can be insecure, and these small providers often go bust.
