Outlook email problems

Hello

Wondering if someone could help or answer my problem i've got.

I'm on virgin bb cable.

Have set up my outlook express for my virgin/ntl email. This works all ok and fine.

Have set up another outlook account for my sky email. I can only receive my email, but can not send any of my sky emails via outlook whilst on virgin cable. All the pop3 smtp settings are all correct.

Has virgin blocked you from sending emails from other email accounts not with them via pop3 smtp, as it's very strange that my virgin/ntl email works both ways ok, but i can only get my sky emails and not send.

It all works fine if i send via the sky website, just not my outlook, which was fine before

Not sure what the problem is, maybe you need to double check some settings. Also, no Virgin don't block other e-mail accounts. I've got Gmail working perfectly so it has to be a setting somewhere.

I've set up my email from my website too and that works fine.

Just the problem with sending emails from my sky account on it. Double checked everything and i think it might be a sky problem then.

In your Outlook account for Sky, have you set the outgoing mail server to the Virgin SMTP server (I use smtp.ntlworld.com but there's probably another server name now we're Virgin). Most ISPs only allow access to their SMTP server if you're using their connection, to avoid abuse. So if you're attempting to use the Sky SMTP server that probably won't work.

I actually use my Virgin connection to access 3 different mailboxes, none of which are actually Virgin!

Hi

Thanks for the reply. Have changed the outgoing email smtp to ntlworld and everything seems to be working. although on the wifes laptop i had to click log onto incoming mail before sending in the setup for some reason to get that to work

Either it's all up and working now, so Thank you very much for your help
