Pathetic Speeds

I have a 20Mbit connection, and up until now I have been getting some amazing speeds (2.44MB/sec usually), however recently my speeds have deteriorated to less than 0.5Mbit.

Anyone else having these problems? I live in Bournemouth (a.k.a. "Southampton area").

But thats normal here for a weekend! lol im used to it.

A download from jolt.co.uk is about 1200Kb/sec still rubbish really for 20mbit.

I'm in Southampton and have slow speeds as well. However I'm holding out for [url=http://status-cable.virginmedia.com/vmstatus/serviceissue.do?ticket=507049]THIS[/urkl] to be fixed. Hopefully that'll sort out the problems as similar problems happened when the 10mb was rolled out.

That ticket will be fixed when they double their capacity on the heavily over subscribed UBRS.
Its not a real ticket as such. just a "So many people have complained we better make a statement" one

these are mine from bournemouth.

Today at peak time i get like 1500kb/sec and it rises up to 1800kb speeds even nearly as high as 2000kb,but when its off peak its useally more stable shown by that picture and certainly not 512kb,and still happy with those speeds.

OK now it's the 18th, how's you connection? I like way the the text in that ticket that says 'a small number of complaints', if it is a small number of complaints I would expect this is because it now costs a a couple of quid to call up and complain.

I think the problem is just oversubscription. Where i live (Isleworth) the lines are very oversubscribed as at the moment whilst everyone is at work I am getting about 16Mbit, come 6pm that will drop off to about 2Mbit no matter where I test it. Unfortunately most of us want to use our connections in the evenings, me included (today is a rare occasion), so we are pretty well stuffed.

Things wont change until Virgin upgrade their network and as they take on more and more subscribers we'll see more and more people on this forum complaining about their speeds. They know there's a massive problem they're just trying to burry their head in the sand at the moment.

Connections is still the same because the problem hasn't been fixed yet as you'll see HERE. WIll only be able to tell when the problem is fixed totally.

I dont have any faith in a ticket that strokes its own Ego at the end.
They need to radically upgrade some areas. End of story. I want my <10s pings back. I wanna actually be able to Dload form outside of the UK over 200kbs. Poplar NE london and their routing is really rubbish.

Well my speeds have been fast enough really,no 512k speeds here in the bh9 area,i have been getting speeds of 1200kb to almost 2400kb/sec, depending on the server,

So today at around 3:30pm , which is near peak time i get full speed almost, here, it drops to like 2100kb to 2200kb/sec with those \/ in the line then goes back to 2400kb/sec ,
