D-Link DI-524 and 20Meg

[link to this post]

Hi,

Does anybody have any tips for optimising the D-Link DI-524 for 20Meg? Over a wire I get 13Mb/s when connected to the router, but if I connect to the modem directly I get almost ~19.5Mb/s.

TIA

Hi,

If memory serves me right (and there may be several revisions of the router), it has a 10mbit port on the WAN side. I used to have one of those, and I'm sure mine only had a 10mbit WAN port which is why I changed router (but of course, I could be totally wrong).

NTL 20meg
When it works, it's great. When it doesn't, NTL support really suck!
Don't really need WiFi? Consider HomePlug (www.solwise.co.uk)

It has a 10/100 port and I've explicitly set it to use 100BaseTX. It probably doesn't have enough CPU power to route 20Mbps between WAN and LAN

I'm hardwired into the router and get the full 20mbit from usenet.
Speedtests always come back around the 10-14mbit mark.
