Excuse my ignorance Guys [and Gals] but I see some posts in this forum reference tweaks for speed [for example DrTCP]. I understood these only work for ADSL lines and as a cable customer there is nothing I can do to improve speeds. Am I right and people have posted in the wrong forum? If not can someone point my at a idiots guide for improving Cable BB speeds?

DrTCP applies to both ADSL and cable as well as a myriad of other connection methods.

So yes MTU and RWIN tweaks are important

www.broadbandreports.com/tweaks can give suggestions on values to use
