STM Immediatly upon turning modem on

[link to this post]

Im not impressed by the fact that i have been away for 2 days and now turned my modem and PC on and was getting awful speeds and i posted on the newsgroup to be told my connection is being STM'd.

How can this be when i havnt downloaded anything and modem and PC has been off for 2 days?

Jim

Perhaps the TM system just assumes that you are a bad guy and cripples you irrespective of your actual use. I would not be surprised at all. In the VM documentation there is reference to the top 3% of downloaders quite frequently.

traffic management is now predictive, they knew you were way for awhile and pre-empted your downloading frenzy!

Ah yes, but they could tell you were *thinking* about downloading a movie...
(I suspect they're in league with the RIAA and forgot to tell us!)

Nothing to worry about -- move right along.
