net neutrality comment being ignored?

I'm just wondering how come the comment by Virgin CEO seems to not be getting any airwaves around here?

Hadn't seen it, so you pay a premium for say a 20Mbps product, but VM also want to charge the content provider a premium for feeding you the HD content?

Wonder whether the price for Sky Anytime for PC will be different to that for BBC iPlayer?

The bus lane analogy if quoted correct doesn't work, since bus lanes exist to give priority to the traffic in them, so that is where you want your traffic rather than been stuck in the over crowded lanes with all other traffic.

The next will be, we've throttled you for downloading X GB, but will unlock the next Y GB for a fee of �B pounds.

VM has the network to win hands down, but does seem to shoot itself in the foot, e.g. DOCSIS 3.0 how long has this been coming now - odds are that it will arrive very swiftly if BT Retail advertise ADSL2+ as up to 24Mbps, but until then they will drag their feet.

I suspect that this may mean Plusnet style traffic shaping may be on the way, i.e. different priorities but confusingly if providers can buy better priority some people will be left wondering why say YouTube stutters but BBC iPlayer runs fine.

Do you think they need to be told that Virgin is a different entity to Virgin Media.
