100mbps upgrade already started?

Wouldnt suprise me, was on 10Mb a couple of years ago just before they started 50Mb, and I was getting around 40Mb for a couple of weeks then it stopped again.

Max speed a docsis2.0 modem can do is about 40Mb, so I believe they had bumped me speed up as part of some test... wasn't complaining lol.

No, technical trial. 100 / 1.75 isn't going to be the final product it'll be 100/10.

Love the way they don't announce anything, it's the community that works it out!

still waiting for them to trial in one of these locations.

above are cities with severe congestion issues. and why are they trialling 1.75 up when the product will be 10 up?

Maybe they are trialling at simulated upstream contention levels for....

If it was as good as that then we'd all be happy!!!

Maybe not if it was advertised at 10Mbps though....

in that case 1.75 is too high

1) Because it would be a waste of time, there are specific reasons to trial and objectives in mind. Congestion would render such trials invalid.
2) I would hazard a guess they are trialling downstream. They can trial boosts in one direction without trialling them in the other.

Appreciate that your congestion is annoying but it's absolutely nothing to do with this topic. If the capacity is there on the downstream there's nothing wrong about trialling the increased speed. Virgin and previously both ntl and Telewest trialled uplifts silently all the time.
