WA1 - Poor speeds / connections Planned Fix 31/08

this is my first post on the forum, I've had problems over the last month or so spent hrs on the phone. latest speed test on 20MB XL

Just thought I'd see whether others are having similar issues around warrington....I've posted on the virgin forum awaiting a response, the network issue looks like a fix at the end of the month. Below ive posted on virgin awaiting a response:

Im at a loss with my broadband service and need your help as to whats happening with my connection and the network fault within my area. Its so frustrating holding on the phone near enough every week about the same issue.

My broadband speeds are fluctuating badly, and so far its taken me around an hr on and off to log in and post on the forum (connection dropping out or running really really slow).. Oh and that's after spending an hour on the tech support line holding

Anyway, my broadband speeds are really slow and dropping and im forking out for BBand 20MB XL. The tech agent has advised theres a network fault in the warrington area and that I would have to wait until the 31st august?? which I cant believe. Over the last month Ive had to phone up over slow speeds to be advised that there was a network fault now fixed and also had an engineer who kindly changed my modem but now Whats happened?? I have to pay and wait for a decent broadband service for near enough a month??

With that kind of timescale, I can only presume that they have had a fibre break or duct collapse in the area or somewhere upstream towards an aggregation point.

Network traffic now routing over alternative paths making them congested. Residential broadband doesn't really cover the costs of an N+1 or N+2 network resilience.

As fibres are typically run under roads and pavements, getting permissions to dig and/or setup roadworks plus getting the relevant contractors in the right place at the right time can easily lead to timescales of weeks rather than days.
