Cable wireless and wired router

[link to this post]

Next dense question smile It's been 3 years since I've had cable, so not sure how it's moved on:

I need the router to have an ethernet connection for my PC and wireless for my phone and laptop.

Does the supplied modem come with these, or do I need to buy a separate/replacement one?

One more thing - I'm not sure if you can get a static IP on cable, appears not though that said I don't remember the IP ever changing on a cable service in the past.

Do any of the cable modems support a DynDns (or similar) service or does that involve buying a replacement?

Thanks smile

There is a netgear combined modem/router that some people are getting, but only seen that where people are trying to swap it out.

Otherwise its the same choice as 3 years ago, VM supplied modem, and your own choice of cable/dsl router
