Dial-up internet on Virgin phone line

[link to this post]

An elderly lady has Virgin phone and TV; also has TV email using cwctv.net....she has been a customer for years and years.
She would like to go on the internet occasionally but cannot afford the installation charge on top of the monthly subscription.
I can lend her a laptop but do not know how to get her a current Virgin email address so that I can set up a dial -up connection for her.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Chris

I think you may need to give them a call - at least this was the correct way when I worked there a few years ago. They would send a CD and letter with the information required.

VM do list a product on the site but I believe that is for non-cabled lines, called 24seven

Have you tried ringing retentions to see if they could offer a free install of internet as a way to keep her custom? Dialup is a nightmare these days -- it's basically unusable.

Thanks, mr_mojo

We tried to get free installation from the Sales team, when trying to add Broadband to her package but they would not play.

She is very reluctant to consider moving to another provider, even just for negotiation purposes.

When she gets back next week, I will have another try.
