V.M. VOIP SERVICE.

[link to this post]

I have contacted V.M. asking if it is possible to have my VOIP landline number permanently withheld, rather than having to remember 141 everytime.

It appears to be a bit of a grey area.

When I 'phoned them I was passed to 3 other operatives, none of them could give me an answer.

I asked on the VM help forum and the response was,

"This is now part of a bundle and costs £3 per month, you will also have unknown caller reject,

This was queried by other users, and I am waiting to see if a definite answer can be provided

And the answer to my query,

"Thanks for coming back to us, unfortunately we don't have any features on our lines that can permanently conceal your number when dialling out, you would always need to use the 141 feature to do this."

A further reply from V.M.

"I have just found out some more information about this, please ignore what I said above, we dont have a free feature that is available but we do chargeable service at around £2.25 per month. I can get this added to your account if you'd like?"

As previous, I have declined their offer.

That is a bit poor. Simplest option would be to edit all your phone book numbers to have 141 in front and then just call from the recent list for common numbers.

It is not a major problem, I rarely use the landline now, a growing trend.
