I upgraded from 100Mb to a slower speed!

o I'm sure Virgin will just use bs reasons for this but post is pretty much just for public awareness purposes really.

As per title, I called in to Virgin this morning with the request of upgrading from 100/10Mb/s service to the 350/35Mb/s service.

All went smoothly, then run a speed test to compare to one I run prior to hits reaching the router...

DS108/US10Mb/s > DS42/US34Mb/s......

Well done Virgin, Doing us pr0ud NOT! Hopefully BT will do better when they get there FTTP rollout done round here. (3-9 months to go)

Issues happen.

Maybe try getting those fixed before going off on one? Most upgrades work just fine - they are just a configuration change.

Powercycle the modem, leave it off for 5 minutes.

Building better networks, not just faster ones.

try nperf dot com to do your speed test other speed tests max out at 150

That is a cool site, though most of the servers i've tried can't seem to max out my upload.
