Mine failed during the Govt daily bulletin that I was streaming on my tablet. I rebooted the Superhub, and it all came back in 15 mins.

Just had my 3rd outage, each lasting 5 minutes, about an hour apart.
It's affecting my Virgin mobile as well which is a nice double whammy.
Granted this is the very 1st SECOND of outage since going live in December so I'll cut them some slack.
|
|
|
Doesn't happen all that often for me, looks like it's nationwide judging by a lot of people's monitor's i have had a nosy at .
Even their site is down.

Two real outages, had to reboot modem to get DHCP to respond again on my router. Now its connected, iPlayer is failing to stream and keeps pausing.
Complete Guess -> Something big somewhere has failed, and I guess we are on the backup which isn’t quite big enough

EDIT : Yep, gone again. gahhh

Seems to be happening at 15 minutes past the hour every hour or 2?

I too am experiencing outages in the BL7 area as of early today (27/04/2020). It's happened about 3 times since 5pm (17:17, 20:10, 21: 25).
In my experience it is good to create a broadband monitor to share with VM if they need to see 'evidence' of our net drops. Here is mine:

Strange to see a nationwide thing like this. I can put up with the blips, unlike sky who took 24hrs the other day to sort their network here in N.Ireland

What could cause an outage at the same time every hour? its over my head!

I know what's happening in terms of what is going on when the outage is happening but what's actually triggering it is a weird one.
3 possibilities, none of which I'm going to go into much. One is feasible, the second may well be a contributing factor to the first one, the third is unlikely and astonishingly daring.

I can see that there are a lot of graphs that line up with Virgin Media's.
I reckon that there is not an issue with all of the others but people reporting an issue, say with twitter when its not and it is their internet connection at fault.

My connection didn't go down, and my ThinkBroadband BQM didn't show any issue but my BQM hosted at AAISP showed a loss of connection.
I've had Gig1 for about a month or so now and not really feeling much improvement, actually feeling a degrade in service nothing wants to download anymore.

Do Virgin notify residential customers about planned maintenance? We have a business connection and they always send out emails saying when to expect outages, which are usually overnight.
|
|
|
No breaks in the BQM we have running into Virgin

Nope... only notice I've ever had from Virign regarding planned maintenance is when they've turned up to clean up street cab and then its only because they've walked the street and put cards through the door just as they start doing it.

Can't say I saw anything last night but have seen one of BQM's report an outage where my others don't.
It's fair to say that lately alot of stuff has had to happen on there network, don't know if its because of increased usage as of late but I do know that bandwidth around some parts of their network is terrible.
Thats why after 2 weeks of trying I've finally today been put back on M350.

Down just 15 mins ago again. Several BQM's showing that. Strangely a non-Virgin BTw supplied FTTC connection of mine went down for the same period.
|
|

And back up very swiftly BUT my download speed has dropped severely this am though upload is as 'normal'
Anyone else spotted this ?

My BQM shows downtime just after midnight but the connection was online the whole time. The same thing happened on Wednesday 13th with the BQM showing some downtime in the morning that didn't actually happen.

BQM was running smoothly.
Virgin Media like most ISP has multiple routes out of its network so one route can be down but others up.

I had a strange event at 6pm last night, couldn't reliably ping anything outside my network. BQM showed a very high latency, so I rebooted the SuperHub, and all working again for hours. Probably a DOCSIS side issue.

I had two short outages yesterday, my router reports "your ISP DHCP failed" but connectivity came back within 3 minutes. There was a longer outage (15mins) at about 3am. So far today things are good.

mine has been a little bit flaky compared to normal for the last week or so,I hought they may have been doing some work in our area, but considering the extra traffic etc the ISPs have had to cope with over the last few weeks they all seem to have done a pretty good job, some on here seem to take it personally when their connection fails and seem to think it should never happen:-technology has always developed faults every now and then and it always will do,we just have to accept nothing is perfect all of the time(obviously I am excluding our wives:-they are perfect all of the time,so she tells me)

Useful to know.
Just had a technician here to solve my disconnections (T3/T4 time-outs) whom found issues with the port in the cabinet being corroded and has moved me to another port. Hopefully that will fix.
