Spike cause tv freezing

[link to this post]

My Broadband Ping
Around 10:00pm most evenings we have spike. The above as the worst recorded.

But this one last night caused the noticeable problems; the TV connected to the Virgin Tivo box froze the unfroze then froze again over a some 10 minutes.

My Broadband Ping

Any idea of the cause?

We are getting a lot of freezes and delays with iPlayer streaming at about 9pm to 9:30pm. The image freezes and the spinning circle of doom followed by a dead screen.

I find that watching a program with iPlayer a few minutes after the program is being broadcast is very likely to fail.

This is using the Virgin 200 product delivered over the in house wifi network which typically delivers a satisfactory 4k Netflix service.
The Samknows report does not show an interrupt for the time of failure.

If the TV is failing as well, this sounds as if there is a problem on the coax cable between you and the cabinet in the street (or in the cabinet). You should raise this with VM, if the phone system is painful, the forum is good.

Get the TV fixed, and the broadband should come good.

We have a letter from Virgin saying important improvement and upgrade is coming . Any disruption will be on 18th Jan 2021.

Will see what difference that makes.
