I notice when using Fast.com that on my 350mb package it very rarely goes above 240mbps. When testing via speedtest (on single thread) I get the full speed (380mbps). If I connect to a VPN i get the full speed via fast.com when utilising a UK server.
Any ideas why this might be happening? At first I thought this might be down to the number of connections, however speedtest works at he maximum speed on single thread and with fast.com working via VPN seems quite strange.
Does anyone else get this issue?

I notice when using Fast.com that on my 350mb package it very rarely goes above 240mbps. Does anyone else get this issue? I easily see 500 Mbps or faster on 5G using my phone in big towns and ciites, and over 300 at home on my local 4G.
My Virgin connection is M200 and I easily get between 200 and 220 using fast.com
If yours is maxing out at 240 perhaps something else is affecting the browser you are using. E.g. some security add on?

Nah, it’s not addons as it does exactly same on phone, tablets, PC’s and Mac.
Like I say, it’s not that the connection can’t achieve its max speed, it’ll do it all day long via other testers (even single threaded).

I always trust this site - samknows speed test as it very reliable and accurate spot on.
samknows speedtest: http://embeddable-speedtest.samknows.com/
Here is mine below G.fast sync at 237/42 from this speedtest above link:
Latency 12.6 ms
Jitter 1.60 ms
Download 227 Mbps
Upload 41.4 Mbps

That's funny. This tester reports a faster download than my Samknows whitebox has ever recorded!

The samknows one reported a peak of 32Mbps upload (during the test), which is a bit suspect as the line is syncing at 18339 (Kbps). Test completed it shows 18.9Mbps. Ho hum.

Watch out for browser caching, I always use a Private / Incognito tab.
