Do VM use PIA for their network expansion now?

[link to this post]

For context and the reason for the question,

There has been a flurry of activity along my street by Avonline Networks over the last few weeks, clearly surveying the area, opening up footway boxes and rodding ducts etc, culminating in them cutting an approx 7m trench to fit some green microduct from a footway box to the pole that feeds my house the middle of last week.

There's no info on one.network or bidb for the trench and I'd initially thought they must working on behalf of Openreach.

However, today I've been leafleted by VM stating "There's a new broadband on the block" and on checking on their availablity checker it now states "Good News, our services are nearly in your area"

Yes, they will use PIA for both expansion of existing network and complete new rollouts.

They will use whatever method is cheaper for each area.

Makes sense.

This is new rollout, although they had previously planned cabling the area a few years ago, but eventually shelved plans blaming the council and rising business costs for making it uneconomical.
