WE ARE LIMITD read this,impotant

[link to this post]

First of all this comes from a virgin manager Quote:
we have resticted the speed of 2mb and 4 mb customers to handel the higher paying customers on the 20 mb connection WHAT
so us scum that cannot afford the best get limited between 4pm to 10pm this is shocking we was not informed of this traffic management I PAY FOR 4MB UNLIMITED NOT 4MB WHEN THEY SEE FIT so we need to take this further so all you who are in my position here is what you need to do:

1. ring 150 and select option 5 and ask why your broadband has been limited between 4pm to 10pm,the reply you will get is mm mm mm ring tech support(25p per minute),you say no put me through to a manager.
manager says yes your right and to ring tech support,he garretees you will be refunded for the call.

2.we ring 09062121111 and go through to a nice lady in india, with it being 25p per min,we must go through the full securiy check,so then we say why is my broardband capped, she says its not,we say its limited between 4 & 10pm,she says yes ,you say so its not unlimited, she says can i take your number & a manager will call you back (bareing in mind i've rung 10 times in the last 4 weeks & never had returning call)

3.consumer direct/trading standards.
tel.
consumer direct.08454040506
trading standards.nottingham.01159507932

please ring these people,i have, and they have opened a casefile,so we need everyone to contact these people.they have said what virgin media is doing is illegal.

summary
get dialing,get ringing,get complaining.
remember you pay for 2mb,4mb,or 20mb UNLIMITED,not restricted by traffic management.
i'm sure you're all in the same boat as me, that when i signed up i signed up for unlimited broadband.

PS.braunston, leicester,a VM sales rep visits a street, tells everyone broardband is available, took 35 deposit from several houses,
LIES,there was no broadband available only dial up
signed.

calm down mate, jesus everyone on here knows about the traffic management plan and that it applies to all customers not just 2 and 4mb but also 20mb, and they also know the reason this has been done, if you dont like the new traffic plan either a) download outside of the hours it is in operation i.e during the day before 4pm / or after 12pm or b) find your self another unlimited (downloads) ISP.

Your service is still unlimited (i.e you can download as many GB's per month as you want to) all Virgin are saying is that if you choose to do that downloading at peak time when everyone else is trying to do regular stuff like internet surfing / emailing etc, then expect (after your've exceeded your download quota for that period) your download to be slower.

Sounds fair enough to me and it least it means everyone gets to do all their normal stuff like online games / surfing etc.. at full speed rather than the network grinding to a halt because all the heavy users are hammering the UBR to death during peak hours.

Im afraid traffic management is a neccesary evil and it will become more and more apparent when speeds reach 50mb and above.

Lo there,

Everyone is being traffic managed, even us on scum who are on 20Mb. My speeds drop to 5Mb downstream between 4pm and 10pm. It doesn't bother me really as a: I do not download stuff, and b: 5Mb is fine for xbox live which is mainly what I use the connection for.

You still get unlimited downloading, just between the hours of 4pm till 10pm it's only at a slower speed.

Dave

Speed Test Results
Date 20/07/07 13:09:05

Speed Up 719.20 Kbps ( 0.7 Mbps )

"i surf not download so your statement goes to pot THERE."

Then how would you notice a difference? Surfing just webpages at 1Mb and 4Mb wouldn't show much of a speed difference.

"ps do you work for virgin "

You don't need to work for Virgin to know that you're acting like a [censored].

Now, grow up and go and read this:

YOUR MISSING THE POINT,VIRGIN HAVE DELIBRATLY MISLED ITS CUSTOMERS,AND UNLIMITED MEANS UNLIMITED NOT RESTRICTED,IF ITS RESTRICTED ITS NOT UNLIMITED.I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO ACT THIS WAY & TRADING STANDARDS AGREE.
I RANG SALES PRETENDING TO BE A NEW CUSTOMER AND ASK IF 2MB &4MB IS RESTRICTED, THEY SAY NO,AND WHEN I MENTIONED TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT THE SALE LADY STARTED STUTTERING AND IN ONE CASE PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON ME

DO YOU WORK FOR VIRGIN MEDIA?
