I dont know wheather its just a coincidence but since the Channel 5 show and the problems Virgin are having with the ASA my connection has improved no end, phaps its tipped their hand and made them realise they had to do something.

I've noticed this too, my connection has jumped from being a slow and laggy connection during peak hours to being semi quick, still nothing like the 20mb we should be getting tho

My speeds and line drops have improved during the past week. But tonight, (Saturday 10:40 pm) - oh so slow again 2,220 kbs or less on the web. No excessive downloads and little use in the evenings.

I am now getting good speeds in the daylight hours.

At this time (01.05 am) I am down to 2,600 kbs and have not accessed the service since 4:00 pm. Streaming from the Apple website currently gives problems on "Size = Small"

I have really given up on Virgin Media during the hours of darkness.

I saw a Virgin Media Van today and a first for a while. On the side in red "Fast, Faster, Fastest"

What I still can not figure out is how such an organization can go to market as it does when for many or most of its customers it delivers only one tenth of what it promises during the time slot that customers are able and likely to use the service. Surely, with all the recent rumpus, this scenario should be attracting more UK media attention. PRESS TV RADIO PLEASE NOTE Research this forum and you will have great material for content that might be entitled "Why did Branson get himself into this mess?"

I received in the mail today some promotional material from Sky. I give Virgin Media 92 per month. It seems I can get all of this (and more if the services perform as stated) for 28 per month from Sky I live in a listed building in a conservation area so cannot use a dish. The Sky vs. Virgin Media scenario also makes good press content material if performance issues, 24/7 customer service and the lack of an effective means to notify Virgin Media of service failure are factored in.

exactly the same as me. Only just noticed today. . Lets hope the improved speeds are here to stay and not a random spike.

Hello dansteve.
Can you tell me what part of SE Lndon you live in, as i live in Camberwell & was with Virgin only a few months ago but the speeds were really bad so i got out of contract, if things have picked up & speeds are better now id think about comeing back.

i'm in sydenham.

not long after that post my speed dropped done to circa 3-4mb so i wouldn't worry too much that you've lost out! I think things are marginally better but what really annoys me is the slow browsing lag at peak times.

its currently 16:14 and im downloading at 16mbs at the moment.

I have has a similar recent experience in London N1.

If VM can produce this improvement, why is it not possible to continue the improved service?
