VM Tech support cost - getting your money back

[link to this post]

Hi Folks,
I just thought you VM/NTL suffers (like me) ought to know that when you call VM premium rate tech support line and the fault is found to be NOT you - you can ask them to refund your call charge. They are suppose to offer this but I found on my many calls to them that like the support, this advise is a bit variable.

As my problem was quite drawn out (still on going) all the earlier calls where not recognised as being a 'fault' report so wasnt refunded until later when I complained to customer services.

So far I have had all my calls refunded and 2month credit to my account for an abysmal 20Mb service - you just have to ask and know who to ask.

One interesting thing I discovered today was that when I went tro customer services and then cancellation dept (I threaten to close my account) they asked who I spoke to in tech (India or UK) and when I said India they put me tro directly to a UK support in Swansea - 10min (free call) and she booked me an engineer for tomorrow. Now thats what I call support service - all I want now is a decent service, will have to wait and see.

It was free as I dialled 150 from my VM phone and they transferred me to when I complained and threaten to cancel. I was tempted to ask for the direct number but I really wasn't in the mood by that stage!

i rang them up last month and because the problem was at their end, the lady told me that they will refund the call charges and my statement shows they have deducted the fees from my monthly bill.
