Swansea internet problem.

For about 3 weeks ive been having really bad speeds, connection is about 2mb at night and less than 700k in the daytime and im on a 20mb connection.

I have complained to Virgin and i was told on the 5th that there are problems in the area and everyone on UBR2 and Gateway 1 like i am will have similar problems to me, and they r looking to get a patch by Dec 11th which they DONT know if it will work and if not they wont be sorting it till the network upgrades which are sceduled to be completed in April 2008 are done. What im wondering if anyone else in swansea is on this? and if so having similar problems. My downloads dont get above 250K and if i use a download manager around 390k.

I have also sent a complaint to the ASA as yesterday i had a letter through from Virgin offering 20mb service which Virgin have told me they cant supply to a number of people in swansea in the area + it claims "download this years christmas number 1 in just 2 seconds" which i think is totally misleading.

Not for me. Say the song was 4mb in size, @2.3mb/s it would take just under 2 seconds to download.

how do they know the speed of the source of the download? they cant tell if there is gonna be heavy traffic on the download which would slow it down, so i do think its misleading. and its misleading people in the swasea area like myself who they cant give 20mb
