We have been NTL users for years now , the account was in my husband's name . As he died last month , I needed to get the account changed to my name .
The first time I tried to do that I was speaking to an offshore Call centre and we got nowhere other than me ending up in tears since I didn't know the password for our account and of course the gentleman reading from the script could do nothing.
Cutting a long story short I eventually got the forms to fill in and sent them back - they would have been received on Monday.
Yesterday I got e-mail problems - my password wasn't recognised and I couldn't even get webmail - Browsing was OK though.
Eventually I got fed up and rebooted everything about 6pm and to my horror found that I now had to set up Broadband again .
However it got stuck so I phoned 151 - and had a brilliant girl who confirmed that the account was now in my name and the number had been changed . She was a tad surprised that I had not been told that the move would happen that day.
She organised my e-mail address to be my original one [ HOORAY ] and then transferred me to Tech Support where Raj helped sort out the problem of not getting online properly and after a bit of faffing about - including a final reboot at my end - I'm back online and everything is going well .
Virgin are so often slated for their Customer Service - but this time once the problem was identified - the Staff pulled out all the stops and sorted out the mess.
Thank you VIrginMedia
