Virgin 12 month usage Trial.

Any more info on the trial as I've not heard of this before?

What are the benefits of this trial?

I thought about it but do we get anything in return for the extra electricity it will use?

Okay, I know it's probably not much, but I did wonder anyway.

Nothing to do with the local guys who are stopping by or the guys in Wythenshawe who are calling you this one, all being done nationally.

Your bandwidth usage is also irrelevant to the trial, it's about getting a representative sample of users across the country the amount of dodgy stuff you download isn't the issue they can get usage stats from the CMTS if they want them, the capability to store usage stats has been present since DOCSIS 1.1 back in 2001.
