BT Home Hub

[link to this post]

I have a hacked BT HH that is used for a VOIP line that i have been using over my VM cable connection ever since i got it and my UKO connection before that.

But now im on 50MB the Home Hub is not getting a connection to the internet but i can access the web interface.

I switched the new dlink dir 615 router for the old netgear router and it the HH connected fine and the VOIP line was working. Switched back to the dlink and it stopped working.

Anyone have any ideas as to why this is?

I have had a good look though the Dlink's web interface and i cant find anything obv that may be causing an issue.

Not really.

Its not illegal to to use a BT HomeHub you know.. And its not illegal to modify it so the VOIP works over the eithernet port and not the ADSL.

Ill have a look and see if there is an MTU on the HH i can modify

lol..

well had a HH spare sitting collecting dust and wanted a VOIP line and using the HH was cheaper than getting a new router with an FXS port tongue

Anyway i like to tinker xD

No problem. Ring up VM and tell them you have a hacked HH on your line. See how fast they disconnect you.

Didn't say it was illegal pal you jump ahead too quickly.

VM already know! haha lol

Anyway its been sorted out now and its working again.

Why do you think that having a HH thats been modified to run the VOIP over the lan and not the ADSL is such a big deal?
