IN case anyone was reading - my service provider buys phone network time in bulk off BT, so gets a cheaper price (passed on to us) than the significant 50% more it charges for use with other phone providers (mobile to an 0208 access number or non-BT landline).
That's why. All there to be checked in the providers' tariff pages. I imagine mine's not alone.
