TV service and telephone socket

[link to this post]

I have ordered Virgin cable TV only; will take Virgin broadband and phone in next year.

I have just received a welcome email and note from the email:-

..Please note that the internal cable wall socket must be within 1.5 metres of where you intend to hook up your TV or Broadband services. Also existing telephone sockets must be in suitable place for use...

I meet the 1.5 metres but do I also need a telephone socket nearby if only having the TV service?

Not for cable - they don't touch or use BT sockets (unless providing broadband/phone in non-cabled area) - if they provide phone, it comes in on its own wires (not the same as the TV/cable modem which share a cable and use a splitter - at least that is what is here)
