Just had an email through advising of yet another price increase.
How can they justify this?
Feb 2010 - 38% increase
Apr 2010 - further 0.06% increase
Jan 2011 - further 0.05% increase
Apr 2011 - yet another
Have/will other providers be following suit?

Only the 10Mbps broadband is increasing in price in April sfaik and that is by £0.75p. XL got a speed boost to 30Mbps for an optional one-off £30 and XXL was reduced in price by £3 in January. Looks to me like VM are encouraging folks on the slower products to upgrade.
The only other ISP increasing prices that I'm aware of is O2.
I only moved to VM in April so I don't know what the price was before that.
If you can't fix it with a hammer you've got an electrical problem.

Possibly a reaction to the increase in VAT?

Those figured correct?? 0.05 % & 0.06% increase is 5p and 6p for every £100.
Did you mean 5 and 6%?

At least someone is awake!
0.05 = 5%, so should be one or other, but NOT BOTH.
Thanks.

VAT increase should have been 2.5% and from Jan 2011, as far as I am aware.
Companies seem to use it as an excuse to put prices up far more.

I read it as 50p for M, but maybe I have the wrong link?

You have it right as I was just going by memory and didn't recheck. It is still only the low end products going up though so the VM message is still the same - upgrade because we'll keep on jacking up your price anyway. The higher speed products are obviously more profitable.

you really have an issue with a 0.06% price increase? get real.

I take it you're a banker?
I certainly don't get anywhere near 5% pay increase, twice a year.
