0.05 = 5%
Think your confusing people by putting it in the format of a decimal.

The higher speed products are obviously more profitable.
I assume the bulk of the cost is in providing the line, so yes, the more they can get out of people for the service .the more money they make.
I assume they just try and price-out the lower speed products. Didn't they have a lower one that is no longer offered?
For email and browsing 1 or 2M is fine. In fact I think my BT line is restricted to 2M anyway.

There are a number that are no longer sold to new customers (including 20Mbps). There are about 3 10Mbps products with different STM thresholds. I saw mention that they still do 512kbps.
The only price increase I've seen over the year is the phone line + 5p on caller display. Maybe when I'm sticking to my ancient 50Mbps and resisting a move to 1Gbps I'll be moaning about price increases.
If you can't fix it with a hammer you've got an electrical problem.

5p on caller display? Christ! Spin off a letter to the ombudsman

It's like banks and interest rates: so many different accounts there is no hope of the supplier knowing the price let alone the customer!
Ar least VM don'r have silly downlload limits. What is the point in offering high speed, when you hit you limit after a few hours use?
