Virgin Media Cable - Speed

I have just moved into a property in Newmarket which is cabled up for virgin media service, in fact the property comes with cable tv etc.

One thing I find very strange is that the broadband is only 4.5 Meg at most, it is cable not adsl and before I talk to the landlord I was interested in why it is so slow, i thought that all virgin cable was at least a bit faster!!

Probably on one of the older legacy products and landlord not taken any of the upgrades.
