Not trying to big up BT, could have easily said Claranet has FTTP available to 100,000 properties too. Plus the 1000's in the KC network foot print, plus all the Hyperoptic coverage

Just trying to make people realise that Virgin Media is only the fastest UK provider if you caveat the statement.

Yes some sadness, but still is out there and in the UK.

Not often a retail provider gets a Culture Secretary to endorse a new product though

Those caveats only become meaningful if they refer to countrywide availability on a massive scale. VM's 152Mb is available across all of it's non-ADSL network to all that ask, i.e. 4.3 million approx.

Don't VM pass over 13 million homes in the UK?

Question is will BT fightback to get FTTC to equal Virgin Media 152Meg?

Nope.

Don't bother going there. He's a bit fickle and doesn't know why he downloads so much because he used to change his ISP at the drop of a hat and on one occasion said that he didn't need to download much nowadays.

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Now Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk

Supercharged for a small minority

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

Virginmedia may have 12.5m customers but only a tiny proportion can have 150/10 today. I'm still on 60/3 with the prospect I might get 100/3 at the end of 2014.

I wish they would upgrade the uplink to the promised 10% rather that this Supercharged marketing hype.
