Yes, I was referring to the lovely Telford. He is more cuddly than a troll - a pixie perhaps.

Hey pcoventry76, don't you just hate Sunday peak time speeds. --> http://i.imgur.com/GONohBU.png - guys at TBB, your latency times are a bit high, might wanna get that checked out wink.

meanwhile my friends on FTTC were doing 10TB + and hearing nothing, Oh well, not something I will get while I live where I am.

Guess they just gotta have all the latest Linux distro's.

i will never understand why people have an issue with mega downloaders, unless you are the ISP paying the charges OR your service is being affected then id on't see it's anyone's concern.

Because it shouldn't be encouraged. I believe it only takes 1 or 2 people in a cable area on the high speed packages to introduce high latency/packet loss and snail speeds. On FTTC it takes a few more, yes, but still, it doesn't take a massive amount of people.

I don't know - i don't ask them what they do..

TBH, I don't think the ISP's care what the customers download at the end of the day, unless they are trying to profit from it.

really, i am lost for words. People who want high speeds are already encouraged by wanting the high speed!

High speeds are meant for getting data faster, not so you can download the internet...

...For some people, time = money.

Wasting my time here, I give up.

"There is however a law against what you are doing."

And what exactly is the law you speak of?

" I agree although I got told off for downloading too much in an actual letter which said it is unlimited but if I carried on downloading as much I would have my speeds reduced."

Seems like your ISP DID object and a fast connection is not just for downloading lots of data, as another poster commented on another of your posts, a fast connection can be used to download a small amount of data but in a more timely manner to enable that person to go about their business.

As you have posted in the past, you had a relatively slow connection but still downloaded huge amounts.

Surely you can't deny what you have posted?

I have never been rude to you but have never agreed to your love of downloading 24/7 as seems to be the case. But you HAVE been rude to others. If you're not happy with people disagreeing with you then don't bother replying or constantly boasting about speed and amount downloaded.

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Now Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk

I believe 50mbps will be the bottom tier to all at some point, VM have done trials of 1.5Gbps and as it was to a small town I think it might have been SH2's but I don't know for sure.

The trial of 1.5Gb was to East London Tech City and used 2 x 16 downstream modems bonded with a bit of business grade kit.

Superhub maxes out at 400Mb down, ~108Mb up.
