Re: Pulse8 pricing

I guess without Yves telling us why he thinks it's expensive we can only guess and if he is comparing it against the cheapest FTTC providers then yes it's relatively expensive but in retrospect the support and a rolling 30 day contract more than make up for what it costs extra.

For me I cannot fault pulse8 no matter how much they cost per month.

I was comparing with Plusnet Fibre. However, thanks for the heads up on Pulse8 which I will now consider later this year.

my sister told me today she ditched VM, and found when she moved to sky even tho it was 38mbit not the higher speeds marketed on VM everything was faster and netflix etc. as if by magic started working.

I told her wasnt surprised probably the usual heavy congestion.

Funnily enough I thought the exact same thing even though it was slower in overall terms of speed, youtube, netflix and even browsing felt 'snappier'

VM's DNS servers aren't the best. I have put a router into my network and can configure my own DNS servers to call from. Has made things a lot snappier.

After a year of rubbish VM service I would sell my soul for proper broadband. Slow and steady rather than fast and lossy!

Hmm, well bare Pulse8 in mind. Currently facing utilisation issues and I'm on a rolling monthly credit with VM. New fibre cabinets currently being put in so will be ditching VM once they go live later this year.
