Things went quiet after the IPv6 trials mid 2018, this was using DS-Lite (Which I am totally against). There were rumours that DS-Lite was being abandoned or paused and given in 2020 there is no news, could lend credibility to it, but Virgin Media have never been in a rush for IPv6, so they simply could be waiting.
I'm not sure they'll abandon DS-Lite either given Liberty Global use DS-Lite across Europe and it seems the core Virgin Media network has primarily been designed to support DS-Lite. From an UK IPv6 council meeting it suggests that DS-Lite is deployed on their AFTRs (address family transition router) and DS-Lite is also on the Super Hub 3 but disabled in the production firmware currently.
If Virgin Media do go with DS-Lite I'd rather stick with IPv4 only and continue using my 6in4 from Hurricane Electric, the downside to this is 6in4 on Virgin Media performs horribly. I'm not entirely sure on this specific reasons this is, but it points to being something with Virgin Media from doing tests with multiple networks. If they do go with DS-Lite rather than dual stack like Sky/BT, I'd consider moving to their business side, as they'd be unlikely to do DS-Lite there and instead route a /48 or /56 as static like most other ISPs.
