In my local area (Ripley, Derbyshire DE5) Virgin were rolling out fibre to the premises. They made it half way across the town and the halted the works about a year ago.
Anybody have any inside information as to whether this may resume in my area?

When they started my town they only added half of it to the roadworks site.
By the time they were nearing completion on the 1st half the 2nd half appeared on the roadworks site. There was no break in works as they moved from the 1st half to the 2nd.
When my town was completed they moved on to the next town over and repeated the exact same process, splitting the town in to 2, but no breaks in the works.
There's absolutely zero Virgin works listed on the roadworks site in the Ripley area.
The fact they picked up their tools and left about a year ago doesn't look promising for the half that's been left out.
If the cost per premises passed is too high they will just move on to another, cheaper to deploy area..

FTTP rollouts seem to be treated like a state secret, they suddenly stop at odd places, and trying to get information past that can be impossible.
From where I sit I find it odd they would stop like that and then come back later as its cheaper to do it all at once rather than leave and come back later. So I dont think it bodes well.
