Does vodafone "full fibre" definitely mean FTTP?

[link to this post]

I want to get FTTP, but on the vodafone uk "Broadband availability checker" it has a mandatory "Select landline option" with only two options:
◎ Keep my current landline number
◎ Get a new landline number (Even if you don’t need a landline number, we’ll set one up for you at no extra cost)

If I select "Get a new landline number", I get "Great news! You are in our Full Fibre area", but it doesn't mention FTTP.

So I did a live chat with a "specialist" who initially suggested that I "can't get internet without a landline".
When pressed if it was FTTP or not, he said it was FTTP but vodafone gives the phone number to all customers completely free and without obligation.

This has made me quite suspicious of the offering - why would they allocate a phone number if no phone service is required? Is it just a marketing scam?

Does anyone have insight on this?

Sounds like FTTP to me, Sky also give you a telephone service with broadband regardless of if you want it or not. Don't assume it will be over copper as its likely to be a VOIP service if it is provisioned with FTTP

If they are saying "full fibre" and offering over 100Mbps speeds then it's FTTP. They give you a phone service out the back of their router regardless of whether you want one or not, I guess it's so that if you use it they can bill you for the minutes.

It's show up to "Full Fibre 900" package, so does look like FTTP.

I'm going with another ISP - I need everything simple, clear and idiot-proof as possible. I'd wager the dormant and "free" number would bite me on the ghoulies in the future - someone will plug a phone in the socket or VF will auto-update me to not-free call package or summut.
