Gigaset N300IP (A)

[link to this post]

Has anyone here have experience of the above?

Is it useable on both POTS and VoIP?

How easy/difficult is it to transfer the MacOS contacts to the base station, or handset or wherever Gigaset store them?

Also can you set the number of rings before the answering machine kicks in?

Thanks for any help.

The N300IP handles both VOIP and a POTS line - Manual here

The basestation does not store any contacts - these are held in the handsets. See page 157 of the manual regarding the use of .vcf files.

Page 104 of the manual gives info about the ring delay settings for the answering machine

Transferring contacts may be an issue. Mine transferred from Android fine initially, then somehow got deleted and now the app wont transfer them again.

Possibly the app updated and now no longer works with that model, very annoying.

Thanks for the manual. Transfer seems a straightforward process. I've since found a Gigaset Utility 'Quiksync' - Mac and Windows, which appears to do the transfer automatically. I assume that putting contacts in one handset would cascade through all linked to the same base station.

Found that. Very helpful.

As an aside I did try the Voipon site for a manual for the Yealink W73P but I get either a 'cannot access' message or a quickstart guide which tells you very little.

iDNet provide a Yealink system with their voip offering so that would be an alternative, but there seems little to no information on transferring contacts. Possibly they assume that users will opt for a networked server

I can confirm the previous answer that you can have VoIP and POTS connected to the N300IP - and you can use both siumultaneously. I used mine that way for years until I went fully VoIP.

I don't have any experience of using the Quicksync utility - I've only downloaded phonebooks from one handset to upload to others (you can do this from the N300 web GUI)

The Yealink W37 guide is here
