AA VOIP with Fritzbox 7530

[link to this post]

Hi

Want to use my FB7530 as the base station to my VOIP with AA so I can get rid of the current DECT base station. Using Yealink W73b and base.

I followed the instructions I found on this site on the link below

https://forums.thinkbroadband.com/aaisp/4655684-cant...

However the telephony check keeps failing and the numbers arent registering

Has anyone had any success with this?

Any pointers will be much appreciated.

Regards
Jim

My Gigaset N300 has the following for A&A:

Authentication name: +441xxxxxxxxx
Password: xxxxxxxx
Username: same as authentication name above
Domain: voiceless.aa.net.uk
Proxy server address: voiceless.aa.net.uk
Proxy server port: 5060
Registration server: blank
Registration server port: 5060
Registration refresh time: 180 seconds
STUN enabled: No
STUN server address: STUN.aa.net.uk (If STN enabled = yes)
STUN server port: 3478
STUN refresh time: 240 secons
NAT refresh time: 20 sec
Outbound proxy mode: Automatic
Outbound proxy port: 5060
Select network protocol: Automatic

I have two N300s at different locations. One of them uses STUN, I am not sure why. Both are registered.

I am using fb7530 with a&a voip. I use gigaset a690hx dect phones connecting direct to the Fritzbox via its internal Dect capabilities. Are the yealink handsets IQ2.0? Can’t see it mentioned in the yea link data sheet.

The thing that caught me out was failing to realise I had to first configure the VoIP connection to get it registering, and then add each handset as a separate device.

I have a FB7590 on FritzOS 7.57 with A&A VoIP, all works fine.

Settings as follows:

Under "Telephony -> Telephone Numbers" you will need an entry for A&A, which should look like:

Status Telephone Number Provider Preselection
(green dot) 01268xxxxxx voiceless.aa.net.uk* *123#

I obscured our phone number, under "Status" you should see a green dot if successfully registered, the *123# is put in there by the Fritzbox, no need to set that up yourself.

There is an "edit" and "delete" button to the right. Once you click "edit" you see another page "Edit Telephone Number". Here I have got:

Under Account Information
Use internet telephone number checked
Telephony provider Other provider

Telephone number for registration* your number in international format, I have +441268xxxxxx
Internal telephone number in the FRITZ!Box** not really important, I have 01268xxxxx
Display name (leave blank)

Under Account Information

Username, Authentication name, Password as supplied by A&A
Registrar voiceless.aa.net.uk
Proxy server (leave blank)
STUN server (leave blank)

Under Telephone Number Format:

Telephone Number Format

Precede the number dialed with these prefix numerals:
Country code select "With prefix (0044)"
Area code select "Without prefix (1268)
Relay outgoing emergency calls without prefixes checked
Relay special rate numbers without prefixes checked

the rest in this section is blank/unchecked

Under "Additional Settings for the Telephone Number":

DTMF transmission RTP or Inband
Suppress outgoing Caller ID (CLIR) CLIR via display name
Caller ID disabled
Provider supports G.726 in accordance with RFC 3551 unchecked
Provider supports call-back on busy (CCBS) in accordance with RFC 4235 unchecked
Provider supports forwarding of calls during the calling phase unchecked
Packet size in milliseconds in send direction 20

Under "Additional Settings for the Connection"
Use telephone number for registration checked
Always register via an internet connection checked

Contact internet telephony provider via
Transport protocol only via IPv4
The provider supports encrypted telephony via SRTP in accordance with RFC 3711 and RFC 4568 unchecked
Media protocol RTP/AVP
Provider supports MWI (RFC 3842) unchecked
Provider does not support REGISTER-fetch unchecked

It may also work with some of the above configured differently, but what is shown above works for me.
I hope that helps

Cheers. I've followed that word for word and finally got it sorted.

Even AAISP support couldn't fix it so many thanks for your efforts

@andrewhearn yes, no problem to put that on your support pages. I can send you some screenshots of the FB interface for you to put on the A&A support wiki, just send me a PM and I get them over to you (unfortunately not possible to put any screenshots on this forum)

FWIW - I have a CGNAT connection from Community Fibre and VOIP seems to work fine with IPv6

Re: AA VOIP with Fritzbox 7530 ** LATEST UPDATE **

[re: essex_man] [link to this post]

I am running the Fritzbox 7530 AX and this guide got me 99% there but I couldn't get the little green light to come on within the settings page. After a bit of hunting around, there was a tiny bit of different information on the A&A support site which sort of contradicted something on here. As soon as I used this slightly different bit of information, I got the green light (literally).

It all centres around the area where you enter your USERNAME, AUTHENTICATION NAME, PASSWORD, REGISTRAR etc.

I got it to work doing this: -

Username: +44144********
Authentication Name: Exactly the same as above

The rest is as per the fabulous guide and the phone then works straight away.
