EE VOIP with BT DECT Phones

[link to this post]

HI all,
I've converted to EE from BT about 6 months ago, and taken the landline option ( far too expensive I know, but I need it) and although my BT DECT phones do work on the EE Router, I cannot change the ringtone and other features are unavailable (can't hear the dialling tones for one , there are others).

Is this a known thing, or should I be raising an issue with EE - I Don't fancy replacing 3 perfectly usable phones just becuase they have BT stamped on them !

FWIW, the EE router is far better than the BT SMart Hub 2 and I did get 2gbp off the monthly cost at BT, just for transferring.

TIA !

The ring tones and the dialling tones will almost certainly be set within the router. Could you please clarify what specific type these phones are and whether they are DECT off the router or DECT off their won unit with an old style BT connection to the router.

Thanks for replying - that's interesting and would explain perhaps why they are not fully functional since my EE Hub is being replaced after two failures of the digital phone 'line' in the last month that forced the EE CS assistant to re-boot the line / system at their end (not my router). They suspected it was my hardware at fault, although they didn't say what evidence they had for that. I was unable to receive calls although the phones would ring, I had silence over the earpiece. Their testing aggreed with my observations

These handsets are DECT to the router direct; they are the BT HD Voice Digital Handset, I think I bought them around 2 years ago, with a Firmware of X65_BT_H31047 which is the latest release. I have one which is monochrome with the (pointless) Alexa button, the other two are colour screen.
